KUHN was recently awarded two AE50 awards from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).
An AE50 award was given to the KUHN MM 1100 Merge Maxx® hay merger and KUHN Krause Interceptor™ 8050 high-speed tillage system, deeming each machine one of the year’s most innovative designs in engineering products for the food and agriculture industries. Both machines will be featured in the January/February 2018 special issue of ASABE’s magazine, Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World.
With 36’ of pickup in a single pass, the KUHN MM 1100 hay merger is unique in the industry and unmatched in its simplicity of operation, durability and merging capabilities. Unique features like the merger’s hydraulic drive system, large-capacity oil reservoir, floating windguard, crop netting and ISOBUS compatibility provide maximum efficiency for the operator in and out of the cab.
The Interceptor 8050 is KUHN Krause’s high-speed tillage solution for controlling troublesome, chemical resistant weeds and a whole lot more. Developed to provide a clean width of cut, the Interceptor 8050 provides growers with a smooth seedbed floor and a level surface for accurate seeding. The Excalibur® CT blades, center-mounted tines, Star Wheel® treaders, 24/7® soil conditioning and maintenance-free bearings work together to increase the adoption of higher planting speeds in both conventional and conservation tillage systems.
Companies from around the world submit entries to the annual AE50 competition and up to 50 of the best products are chosen by a panel of international engineering experts. The judges select innovative products that will best advance engineering for the food and agriculture industries.
